UPDATE: An Apple spokesperson released the following statement to Yahoo Tech:
“We have received reports of an
issue with the iOS 8.0.1 update. We are actively investigating these
reports and will provide information as quickly as we can. In the
meantime we have pulled back the iOS 8.0.1 update.”

After downloading Apple’s
latest update to
iOS 8, the new mobile operating system that was
released last week, many users are now complaining that they no longer have cellular service — including me.
I
applied the brand-new update to my iPhone 6, and it has remained in
search mode ever since. In addition, my Touch ID no longer works. Yes, I
risked my technological life for you, dear readers. Please pray for me.
It does not appear to be specific to just one type of phone.
