Disaster to avoid, but how?: Apple “Bends” Users Trust with iPhone 6

For all iPhone 6 Plus users, here’s one of the coolest tricks that could change the way you use your iPhone 6 Plus.
Some users reported that their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones bent on their pockets. Some of them even posted pictures of bent iPhones here and here.

According to the reports, the “bending” of iPhones occurred in their pockets. Some say that it bent after sitting on a chair. Another report says that he had various activities such as driving, dancing and a whole lot of sitting (again) which took about 18 hours in his pocket, only to find out that his iPhone was distorted slightly.

This bending trend wasn't new to Apple’s products. Previous 5 and 5s owners also reported that their iPhone 5 and 5s bent after some time.
This made some serious hype on Twitter with #bentgate as more and more iPhone users became aware and cautious with the bending of Apple’s phones. As a marketing manager, I think this could lead to something worse if Apple won’t do something about it.
Will the “drop test” be replaced by the “bend test”? Can other phones avoid this rage? Maybe if they could come up with solutions like these.

• Release new devices and accessories at the same time – One common solution for this problem is that companies should release additional accessories together with the release of mobile phones. Just look at iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. If Apple only thought of giving away mobile cases for these phones, then they could avoid this kind of problem.

• Seriously apply QA to mobile phones and devices – Working operating systems and adding newest features isn’t enough to make a device stand out without any flaws. Companies and brands should understand that gadgets and devices undergo a series of elements and settings that could really test their resilience. Don’t just focus on the inside and try to improve the outside as well.

• Learn from your mistakes – It is truly understandable if this only happened with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but the truth is that this also happened with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. Should Apple learn from their mistakes? Should Apple continue its legacy with the bending effect? As far as I’m concerned, I wouldn't waste another couple of dollars just to fix something on my phone.

• Take action ASAP – Some mobile companies would wait for the issue to simmer down before they take action, but in some cases it will just get hotter and hotter. Considering the fact that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was just released recently, they would get much worse responses since Apple was known to produce high quality products. Add the mere fact that iPhone’s social signals doesn't do very well today.

I just wish that Apple would think of another way to solve this problem. I mean, don’t just blame your pockets if they are meant to contain something, right? What are your moves now, Apple?
