Sony Leaked Emails Depict Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Leo DiCaprio: Sought-After, Apologetic and ‘Despicable’

Amy Pascal’s email inbox continues to provide internet fodder with peeks at drama behind the scenes of running a studio
Three of Hollywood’s hottest leading men — Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney — are at the center of the newest emails leaked as a result of the hacking attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment.
On Gosling, he is clearly sought-after at the studio, with emails suggesting the actor loved meeting with the studio head and really wanted to work with the studio.

“Ryan absolutely loved you,” said Ilene Feldman, Gosling’s manager, in an e-mail to Pascal on Oct. 3 obtained by The Daily Beast. “Said it was like speed dating because he was late after hitting every wrong gate on the lot. Not it should turn to marriage. He really wants to do something with you.”
Pascal, returning the compliment, wanted to discuss Gosling possibly starring in “Jobs” or “Spider-Man” spin-off “Sinister Six.” In turn, it appears Gosling expressed interest in the male lead role in Sony’s planned all-female “Ghostbusters” reboot, which is being put together by Paul Feig.

On the other hand, Pascal was less impressed by Dicaprio, who dropped out of “Jobs” simply because he changed his mind.
“Was this about the deal… or did he just change his mind,” wrote “Jobs” producer Mark Gordon to Pascal on Sep. 18.

“The latter,” replied Pascal.
“Horrible behavior,” said Gordon.
Pascal agreed, calling it “Actually despicable.”
Another Pascal e-mail exchange uncovered by Daily Beast illuminated actor/producer/director Clooney in a moment of self-doubt over his WWII drama The Monuments Men,” which came out earlier this year.
“I need some protection from all the reviews,” he wrote to Pascal on Jan. 29 in an e-mail with the subject “it’s getting worse.” “Let’s just make it a hit. I haven’t slept in 30 hours. And it’s 7 am.”

Pascal promised to make the movie a hit: “We will protect you by making money… that’s the best revenge.”
But Clooney appeared to be continued to be plagued by paranoia over the job he did on the movie, writing Pascal the next day, “I adore you Amy. You are literally the only person running a studio that loves film. I fear I’ve let you all down. Not my intention. I apologize. I’ve just lost touch… Who knew? Sorry. I won’t do it again.”
The hack exposed personal information — including salaries and home addresses — of current employees and those who stopped working at Sony as far back as 2000 when the information was leaked to various news outlets and over BitTorrent.

“Everyone is banding together to get through this,” Pascal told TheWrap. “Sometimes adversity leads to banding together in a positive way. I’m really proud of the way they have been stepping up.”
