Now that Steam Holiday Sale is over, we can go back to the usual daily and weekend deals that Valve runs through its digital distribution service.
This weekend pick comes from Stardock’s portfolio and is aimed at turn-based strategy fans. Beginning Friday and until Monday, 10AM Pacific Time, those who do not own Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes will be able to play it for free.
If they like the game, they will also be able to purchase it at a reduced price. Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes is now 75% off on Steam, so PC gamers can grab it for only €9.24 during the weekend.
Legendary Heroes is not the first title in the Fallen Enchantress franchise, but it’s standalone expansion, so you don’t really need to own the base game in order to play it.
For those without any experience from previous Fallen Enchantress titles, Legendary Heroes is a turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world where players must build their empires, fight mysterious creatures and gain experience by completing quests and recover lost secrets.
Legendary Heroes is a major improvement over the base game
But there’s new stuff for fans of the franchise as well, so those who couldn’t afford to purchase this standalone expansion will find out that some gameplay mechanics have changed.
For example, the champions are not found during your travels anymore, instead they come to you based on the amount of Fame that your empire has generated.
Furthermore, there’s also a new leveling system, which allows champions to level up through a skill tree that enables players to plan what type of hero they need.
The tactical battles have been updated as well, so you should now find them more intense with additional special skills, combat mechanics, spells and new maps. The graphics engine has been improved as well.
There are also a lot more spells in the game, new monsters and larger maps. Don’t forget that you can only get Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes at a reduced price via
Steam until Monday, January 5.
