Expect to shoot on the move in Uncharted 4
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, the next installment in the third-person shooter series made by Naughty Dog, will see its gameplay and combat incorporate way more elements as opposed to previous titles that just saw players stick behind cover and shoot at different enemies in front of them.
The Uncharted series made its debut on the PS3 many years ago and saw subsequent iterations appear on the home console, as well as on the PS Vita, for example, with Golden Abyss. All of them retained the same third-person shooter style, with protagonist Nathan Drake ducking behind cover to shoot at enemies that slowly made their way towards him.
Uncharted 4 adds more things to the recipe
With Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, developer Naughty Dog wants to evolve that kind of experience and add way more situations that require different things from the player.

Gamepur, Uncharted 4 Director Neil Druckmann confirms that players can expect gameplay sequences that are much more impressive than the ones seen in the PlayStation Experience demonstration that took place back in December.
"With the verticality of Nathan Drake, with adding set pieces that weren't necessarily in this demo, how do you get a bigger flow, something that is deeper at an emotional level? All those things come together to make the Uncharted that we want to play," he says.
Uncharted 4 is more than just a cover-based shooter
Druckmann also wants the game to stop relying just on enemy encounters that see Drake take cover behind objects and then shoot at enemies from afar. A new "flow," that forces players to be more mobile when engaging enemies, has been developed by the whole team at Naughty Dog.
"We have our vertical slice and we've found our flow and the voice of this game. To us the Uncharted combat works best when it has a flow to it, when you are not just behind cover, shooting over and ducking back down. When your cover is getting flanked and you have to jump and move down to another level," he adds.
As such, while Uncharted 4 is more than just a shooter, expect to still see plenty of gunfights in the upcoming game for the PS4.
