Gamers can get items that will not affect balance
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has new Ascendance weapons
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has received a major update today on the Xbox One, the PC and the Xbox 360 but the development team at Sledgehammer Games has one more surprise for the player community and is announcing that it is also introducing a new Advanced Supply Drop concept for the game and adding a new weapon to the multiplayer mix.
Both are designed to expand the number of options that gamers have when it comes to outfitting their character for combat.
The new Advanced Combat Drops are designed to appear in the game store and to allow players to secure more items, although the team insists that this is not a pay-to-win move and will have any sort of impact on the game balance of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Each will include three items, one weapon variant, one Professional rarity item or better and all included content come with an armory slot and can be used to get experience.
Sledgehammer Games adds, "In addition to acquiring items from the current rotation, you will also have the opportunity to get unique cosmetic gear items found only within Advanced Supply Drops. Be on the lookout for the Eco Custom Exo, items from the Arctic Gear set, and more!"
Initially a limit will be placed on how many Advanced Supply Drops can be bought but that will be eliminated in a few weeks.
Ascendance DLC content is already being offered to players
The new OHM direct energy hybrid weapon is at the moment only offered to those who have bought the Season Pass for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and are playing on either the Xbox One or the Xbox 360.
The design of the weapon means that it combines the capabilities of a shotgun that can deliver massive firepower at close range and a light machine gun that can engage the energy at range.
Players can also use the Werewolf custom variant on the two platforms and those playing on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the PS3 will only get access to it when the Ascendance DLC launches on those platforms.
Sledgehammer Games not announced when it plans to launch the Ascendance DLC for its shooter but it might be getting ready for an official announcement and the content might be offered on the Xbox One and the 360 in just a few weeks.
