Video game developer Avalanche Studios and publisher Warner Bros. are announcing that they are planning to launch their new Mad Max title at some point during September of this year and that they are no longer actively working on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of the experience.
The two companies are claiming that they are making the move in order to be able to focus on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One installments, making sure that their quality level if high when they are introduced.
Gamer Informer says that September 1 is the date for the United States and that gamers in Europe will have to wait for two days for the same content.
The cover image for Mad Max is also official now and gamers who are planning to place a pre-order for the title will get access to a new Magnum Opus car body called The Ripper, which will introduce a capable V8 engine, tires for off-road action and a grill that is designed to ram enemy vehicles during chase sequences.
Many fans of the franchise were expecting the video game to be launched around the same date when the new movie in the franchise is offered.
Mad Max: Fury Road is set to be in theaters on May 15 and is designed to reboot the entire series and to introduce an entirely new take on the post-apocalyptic action that it has pioneered.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was also given a September 1 launch date earlier today.

Mad Max aims to offer an open world structure

The development team at Avalanche Studios says that it will offer a full open world experience with the new Mad Max title and that gamers will have to battle enemies both on foot and in vehicles as they explore the world.
The studio is saying that ammunition will be limited which means hand to hand action and homemade weapons will be very effective in taking out the opposition.
A lot of the game will be focused on the upgrades that the Magnum Opus car can receive to make it more effective.
Avalanche Studios initially announced Mad Max for late 2014 and it will be interesting to see whether they will respect the new September date.
