Google Plus could get a new feature to boost its popularity

It seems that Google is working on some changes on its social network and that it plans to introduce a new feature on the platform, currently known as "Collections."
A report from Droid Life announces that inside sources have already revealed that the new enhancement is on its way, with some even saying that it should be released sometime in May.
Since Google hasn't formally announced the launch of this new Google Plus function, there are not many details on how it works and what exactly it has in store for its users. However, from the information released in the report, it seems that the feature is quite similar to Pinterest or Tumblr, with the exception that it also allows blogging.
The new tool will be available on mobile as well as on web, allowing users to create collections of just about anything they are interested in, whether it’s photos, videos, or even events. Users will also have the option to view, share and even follow collections they are interested in it.
It’s most likely going to take a while before the option rolls out to every Google Plus user out there since "Collection" is yet in beta, but once it is made available, users should be able to access it from a shortcut in the drop-down menu.
However, it remains to be seen if this new feature has what it takes to increase Google Plus’s popularity and to take on other existent similar tools.
