The ISO image has now been split in two archives
We were recently informed by Željko Popivoda, the developer of the Linux AIO project that builds all sorts of Live DVDs with multiple editions of an operating system, that there's an update for the Linux AIO Ubuntu Live DVD.
The Linux AIO Ubuntu 14.04.2 Live DVD has been updated to include the latest stable versions of the mainstream Ubuntu flavors, including Ubuntu 14.04.2, Kubuntu 14.04.2, Ubuntu GNOME 14.04.2, Xubuntu 14.04.2, and Lubuntu 14.04.2.
"Linux AIO Ubuntu 14.04.2 ISO files are released. Download links are in Download section of the website, where you can find short info about every ISO," says Željko Popivoda. "With this release we have two announcements to make."
Ubuntu MATE has also been added to Linux AIO Ubuntu 14.04.2
The good news, however, is that the new Linux AIO Ubuntu release now includes the Ubuntu MATE operating system, since it has been announced by Canonical as an official Ubuntu flavor.
While the Linux AIO Ubuntu developers are aware of the fact that Ubuntu MATE will become an official Ubuntu derivative starting with the soon-to-be-released 15.04 version, they decided to include the recently released Ubuntu MATE 14.04.2 because it will be supported for five years.
The Linux AIO Ubuntu ISO image has been split in two archives
The second part of the announcement for Linux AIO Ubuntu 14.04.2 is about the size of the Live DVD ISO image, which become too bigger to be hosted on the well-known SourceForge website. As such, the developers decided to split the ISO image in two archives.
Users are
instructed on the Linux AIO website on how to successfully join the two archives that they will download from SourceForge or via Softpedia in order to get a working ISO image that they can burn on a USB flash drive.
Download Linux AIO Ubuntu 14.04.2 right now from Softpedia.
