Yahoo Sues Former Employee for Leaking Confidential Information

The information was obtained during FYI meetings
The meetings were organized by CEO Marissa Mayer
A former Yahoo employee is in for a lawsuit after speculations that she had revealed confidential information about the company came to light.
Yahoo has taken Cecile Lal, a former senior director of product management, to court accusing her of having disclosed the company’s secrets to writer Nicholas Carlson for his book, "Marissa Mayer and the Fight to Save Yahoo!," which just as the title suggests it, is not very flattering for either the CEO or the corporation.
Apparently, she had gathered the information during the meetings which she had taken part in during her days at Yahoo and which had been organized by the company’s CEO.
Carlson had previously admitted that despite the fact that Marissa Mayer had forbidden everyone to talk to him while he was gathering information for his book, he had managed to interview some Yahoo employees who were willing to cooperate with him despite the fact that they were running the risk of losing their jobs and endangering their careers.
"Lal’s breach of trust and confidentiality also destabilized the trust on which Yahoo relies in providing its employees with the greatest level of information Yahoo has ever shared with its workforce," Yahoo declared for Bloomberg.
It is yet unclear how the identity of the person who disclosed the information came to light, given that most of the sources from within the company which have contributed to relaying accurate information for the book were left anonymous.
If the claims turn out to be true, then Yahoo is in the right to go against the former employee given that she has breached the terms of her agreement with the company.
