Man Couldn’t Believe What He Saw Dogs Protecting After Devastating Wildfires

Following the devastating wildfires across Idaho and the Midwest, a man checking on his 300-acre plot of land came across a group of dogs in the middle of the woods, and he was shocked to see what they were standing guard over.
Louis Armstrong was out walking his property after it was ravaged by fires in Kamiah, which destroyed 42 homes in the area, when he came across a female dog and her two pups, Barkpost reported. Armstrong recognized the dogs since they belonged to one of his neighbors, but what got him was what they were doing out in the middle of the woods.
According to a Facebook post that Armstrong wrote:
“This one got me in the feels. Lots of destruction and sadness in the Kamiah area — I found this dead fawn this morning. An hour later this sheep dog and her 2 pups are here protecting it. They have been here for hours and won’t leave — barking at people that come near (although they are very nice).”

Isn’t that cool? While their motivation isn’t known, it shows the protective and compassionate nature of animals. With so much devastation and destruction happening in the area right now, I’m sure this little token of compassion was exactly what everyone needed.
For those unaware, CNN reported that almost 21,000 acres have been destroyed so far in the Kamiah region alone, and as of last Monday, it was only 15 percent contained. However, Idaho has been hit hard, with over 300,000 acres destroyed by the fires, which still continue to burn.
