Woman Dies From Illness, Day After Funeral Family Gets DISTURBING Surprise

After a long battle with a terminal illness, a beautiful young Texas woman succumbed to the disease in the beginning of August, and shortly after, her family held the funeral service for her. As they prepared to have their loved one’s body cremated, the family’s grief was exponentially compounded the following day when they were greeted with an utterly disturbing surprise at the funeral home.
On August 8, 25-year-old Julie Mott succumbed to cystic fibrosis after years of valiant fighting to survive, and her family arranged memorial services for her friends and family to express their condolences and share stories about the beautiful young woman’s fortitude on August 15, KHOU reported. The service went as well as could be expected after a woman, far too young, was taken from Earth, and Julie’s casket was moved to a staging area to await cremation the following day.

However, things didn’t exactly go as planned. The following morning, Julie’s family was struck with a surprise so disturbing, it had local police scratching their heads as to how it happened.
“It’s really quite concerning,” said SAPD Sgt. Javier Salazar. “We are hoping that the public may be able to help assist us.”
When funeral home workers went to gather Julie’s casket for cremation, they made a sickening discovery – her body had been stolen from inside of it, and it was nowhere to be found.
“The next morning when they came back to the funeral home, they discovered that the casket Ms. Mott had been in for the service was actually empty,” said Salazar. “Her remains had been removed.”
The crime was so shocking, the sergeant said it’s the first time he’s ever seen anything like it. The first question anybody would ask is, who would steal a person’s dead body?
“In my 22 years in law enforcement this is the first time I have ever heard of this happening,” Salazar said.
The funeral home’s owner, Robert Tips, said that he believes that it may have been someone who’s vehemently opposed to cremation and prefers a traditional burial, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
“We feel very strongly that there’s a difference of opinion there,” he said.
But even so, that hasn’t helped police to identify a suspect. In fact, they’ve been looking into leads, but they haven’t been able to narrow anything down, Salazar said.
“It would be speculation to even assume that it was just one person. It could have been two or several,” he said. “Until we get that crucial piece of evidence leading us to just the right person or people, we just won’t know.”
The disturbing crime has Julie’s family a complete mess after their grief was compounded by such a loss. Now, they’re just begging for someone to help them find their beloved family member’s remains.
“We just want our daughter’s remains returned so we can have some closure to our grief,” said Tim Mott, Julie Mott’s father.
Salazar said the case is being investigated as abuse of a corpse, which is a class A misdemeanor. However, more charges could follow as authorities dig deeper into their investigation and gather more information about the case.
Regardless of a difference of opinion or not, this is absolutely one of the most disgusting crimes I’ve heard about in some time. It’s torturous to do something like this to a family who’s already suffering from grief and just wants to move on. Hopefully, they’re able to find Julie’s body, and her family can get the closure they so desperately need. It’s bad enough to lose a loved one when they’re so young, but then to have this happen… It’s just horrible.
