Dawn Parabellum
The only power our current Commander-in-Chief seems to be
able to employ is that little bit found in his tyrannical pen. Once
again, he’s saying the American people and their wishes be damned, as
the weak man tries to put on a tough facade with threats of veto. If his
blatant disregard for We the People hasn’t pissed you off yet, it really should when you hear his latest attempt at intimidation that places us all at risk.
Barack Obama made a not so shocking statement yesterday,
when he threatened to veto a Republican sponsored bill requiring a more
in-depth vetting process for Syrian refugees seeking to enter the United
States. Anyone with even a mild understanding of the political dynamic
created by this limp-wristed president knows that he only does things
like this for show and not because he thinks it’s best for the American
public.
The legislation seeks to ensure the safety of the American
public by forcing refugees to be screened under more scrutiny than they
are now. That legislation includes FBI background checks and individual
sign-offs by top federal officials.
The White House said that these measures “would provide no
meaningful additional security for the American people, instead serving
only to create significant delays and obstacles in the fulfillment of a
vital program that satisfies both humanitarian and national security
objectives.” This statement is most likely true, considering refugees
seeking to do harm would simply lie, steal a passport, or have fake
documents made, as we’ve seen following the attacks in Paris, France.
However, what’s downright hypocritical is that while Obama wants less
scrutiny for potential terrorists entering the United States, he wants
more for law-abiding gun owners.
The agenda is showing, and these refugees will be here
regardless of what the states want and what the American people want. It
won’t soon matter, and sadly, American civilians may have to begin to
defend themselves from those wishing to do harm.
