Ben Carson Threatens To Leave GOP, Reason Leaves Many STUNNED

Robert Rich
With Ben Carson being second place among GOP candidates in the polls, it seems that things could be right on track for the presidential hopeful. However, many people have been left utterly stunned that he most recently threatened to leave the Republican party once and for all – and the reason is nothing short of shocking.
Many Americans know Ben Carson to be a man of principles and morals – it’s what he’s run his campaign on, and it’s what’s actually done well for him. After all, it’s got him to where he is now. Unfortunately, that could all be about to change, as the man’s ethics could not only see him out of the presidential race, but it could also see him out of the GOP once and for all.
Now, despite fellow frontrunner Donald Trump doing so well, it seems that the establishment is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that Trump doesn’t get the official Republican nomination. That rumor was recently made fact, as the Washington Post reported that senior GOP officials met privately on Monday to discuss a brokered convention as a way to keep Trump from getting the nomination.
According to Western Journalism:
A brokered convention takes place when no candidate wins on the first ballot. Candidates then seek to gain enough delegates from other candidates to win the nomination.
In other words, the GOP wants to scoot the number two candidate, which in this case would be Ben Carson, to the number one spot should Trump remain at the top. Doing whatever they could to make sure that Trump was not the official nominee, Republican officials are proving themselves to be every bit as corrupt as their fellow politicians.
Too bad for them, Carson isn’t having any of it.
“If the leaders of the Republican Party want to destroy the party, they should continue to hold meetings like the one described in the Washington Post this morning,” Carson said in a statement Friday. “If this was the beginning of a plan to subvert the will of the voters and replace it with the will of the political elite, I assure you Donald Trump will not be the only one leaving the party.”
Dr. Ben Carson
Carson, of course, was referring to Trump’s recent remarks, saying that if the GOP didn’t play fair that he’d ditch the party and run as an independent. However, unlike the man at the top, Carson wouldn’t be doing it as an advantage to win the election, but rather as an act of clean ethics and morals.
“I pray that the report in the Post this morning was incorrect,” he continued. “If it is correct, every voter who is standing for change must know they are being betrayed. I won’t stand for it.”
It seems that not only are Americans sick and tired of the nation’s elite twisting and perverting the rules to get what they want, but so are those who are trying to obtain the most powerful position in the world. “If the powerful try to manipulate it, the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next summer may be the last convention,” he lastly added. “I am prepared to lose fair and square, as I am sure is Donald. But I will not sit by and watch a theft.”
You couldn’t ask for a better guy to be sitting behind that desk in the oval office, and this just goes to prove it more. A man willing to lose, so that others cannot cheat, indicates the highest level of honesty seen seeping from these proceedings in quite some time. Just the suggestion of such a gesture is more than likely enough to sway quite a bit of favor with the American people, but most of all, it proves the kind of man Carson really is.
Now, I don’t know about you, but that kind of sacrificial honesty proves to me that this guy is willing to do what’s right – not personally beneficial – 100% of the time, and that’s exactly the kind of guy I could get behind.
