Crooked Baltimore D.A. Just Got BAD News From Judge In Freddie Gray Case

The case against the six Baltimore police officers indicted over the death of suspect Freddie Gray while in police custody just took an interesting turn. A Circuit Court judge handed down bad news for the crooked prosecutor, and it should be enough to finally bury her politically charged witch hunt against the men.
The case against the officers has been controversial from the start, with many people believing the only reason that charges were even filed was because Sate’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby was cowering to the demands of #BlackLivesMatter protesters in her city. Mosby’s case was based on questionable evidence at best, and a key part of her prosecution relied on forcing Officer William Porter to take the stand against his fellow officers, but it looks like that’s not going to happen, according to Reuters.
A judge on Wednesday rejected prosecutors’ request that a Baltimore policeman facing retrial over the death of black detainee Freddie Gray be forced to testify in the trials of his fellow officers.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams said the motion by the state compelling testimony by Officer William Porter appeared to be a “stall tactic” since it would have indefinitely postponed the trials of all six officers charged in Gray’s death last April.
Joseph Murtha, Porter’s attorney, told Judge Williams the prosecution wanted to “take him hostage in five cases … they want to torture him in his own trial with the threat of perjury.”
Porter was the first officer to be tried, but his trial on involuntary manslaughter and other charges ended in a hung jury last month. A retrial is set for June.
Boom! Finally it looks like Mosby’s case is going to implode, and it’s from her own doing. All she was trying to do was crucify officers at the will of a mob, and it’s all backfiring in her face big time. I guess that’s what happens when you charge people based upon political pressure alone.
