The last time we saw Ben Affleck he looked really dejected about negative reviews of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. But he probably did not stay sad for too long after the movie's $424m (£609mn) global box office debut.
Affleck was, however, recognised as one of the best actors in the film and was credited with bringing a new dimension to his character of Batman. Fans will next be able to see him don the black cape for the much-awaited Justice League movie.
After rumours got around that the actor wrote some of his own dialogues, it has been confirmed that he has already written the script for an additional Batman film. In a Hollywood Reporter interview, WME-IMG's CEO Patrick Whitesell said, "He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape," adding, "there's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option."
Rumours regarding this Ben Affleck-written Batman film have been making the rounds ever since the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con and it was reported back then that the actor-director would team up with DC Entertainment chief creative officer Geoff Johns for the project but nothing has been made official as of yet.
However, fans of Affleck's Batman won't have to wait until the first of the Justice League films, which releases in November 2017, to see him again. He will be making a cameo in Suicide Squad, which is set for an August 2016 release.
