Overview

Nadal looks like he is back to his best, coming into this game on the back of a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Scot Andy Murray in the semi-final. During the course of his journey to the final, Nadal has beaten three tough opponents in Dominic Thiem, defending French Open champion Stan Wawrinka and Murray. Frenchman Monfils too comes into this tie on the back of some brilliant performances in the Monte Carlo Masters. He has not dropped a set so far in the tournament. Monfils cruised past Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-finals winning 1-6, 3-6 on Saturday and is currently at his best. The 29-year-old attributes this change in form to a more disciplined approach on the court.
