Free agent bullpen piece Jerry Blevins is bringing his left arm back to Queens next season.
Blevins agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million pact with the New York Mets on Saturday, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal. Jon Heyman was the first to report that a deal had been made between the two parties. The contract includes a $6 million option for 2018. The 10-year veteran had a 2.79 ERA in 73 appearances last season. He posted a 4-2 record and had two saves. Blevins, 33, owns a 3.44 career ERA in stints with the Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, and Mets.
Blevins made $4 million last season. He also caught the eye of the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason, before deciding to stay put.
