The Best Free Games on the PS4

Free-to-play games have received an impressive level of critical and commercial success on the PC in the last decade. However, it wasn’t until relatively recently that console devs started to move in that direction in a serious way. Game devs of all sizes are now entering the fray, and as such, we wanted to see exactly how well these games stand up on Sony’s console.

From the get-go, we’ve been monitoring each and every F2P release on the PS4. While some of the games on the PlayStation Store aren’t even worth mentioning, there’s a decent variety of solid titles there. And thanks to the low barrier to entry, you can try out anything that might strike your fancy. Now let’s jump in, and find something new to play.

If you’re working with a fairly tight gaming budget, take some time to try out a handful of these releases. Obviously, not every F2P game will fit your needs, but the selection here is actually quite impressive. If you go in with an open mind, you’ll definitely find something worth playing — regardless of whether or not you’re willing to pay.
