Frank Ocean and Travis Scott are the latest pair of celebrities with beef.
Ocean’s lawyers reportedly send Scott, 26, a cease and desist letter
demanding his voice be removed from “Carousel,” a song the pair
collaborated on for Scott’s album “Astroworld.”
According to TMZ, Ocean, 30, is upset his vocals were changed on the
song, although it’s unclear how exactly his voice was changed. It’s
speculated that they’ve auto-tuned his voice.
The gossip site says Scott has no plans to remove Ocean’s voice from the track.
With over 3.1 million plays on YouTube, “Carousel” is one of the most
popular tracks on the “Astroworld” album. “Astroworld,” which came out
in August, shot to number one on the Billboard 200 chart, outselling
Nicki Minaj’s “Queen.” At the time, Minaj went on a Twitter tirade,
saying that Scott’s album beat hers out because of the free promo he
received from his baby mama Kylie Jenner.
Meanwhile, Scott is getting ready for his Astroworld Festival, a one-day music festival at NRG Park in Houston on Nov. 17.
A rep for Scott declined to comment, while Ocean’s rep did not immediately return our request for comment.
