The body of a person who fell at Mt Earnslaw / Pikirakatahi, in the Southern Alps, has been recovered.
Police were informed of the accident about 4pm yesterday, but it's believed the climber fell earlier in the afternoon.
The body was located near Earnslaw Hutt last night.
The death is being referred to the Coroner.
