It looks like a fair number of Diablo
III players have been affected by lag in the last couple of days and
Blizzard does not seem to be able to offer a fix for the moment.
The game's forum is full of complaints coming from players who are
disappointed by Blizzard's lack of communication when it comes to this
problem.
One forum member
claims
that many Diablo III players on US East coast and some from Europe have
been hit by lag over the weekend and the issues still affects them
without Blizzard making any statements.
Apart from the major lag issues, some players even experienced
occasional disconnects while playing Diablo III and sometimes even
rollback.
The problems seem to a affect more people that Blizzard initially thought
The good news is Blizzard has finally acknowledged the lag issues and is
now turning to Diablo III players to offer their feedback, which will
eventually lead to a solution. Here is the entire
blue post that asks for Diablo III players' help:
“We've been asked to collect some information for our network engineers
on this issue. We'd like to have your trace route info when you trace to
12.168.209.68. We'd also like to see the results when you run our
Looking Glass utility to see the return path of the trace from Blizzard
to you. Be sure to select Diablo III in the utility. And lastly, please
identify your ISP and geographical location in your reply post with the
above info.”
Reading further through the forums we've noticed that this is in fact a
widespread issue and that players from all parts of the United States
are affecting by latency.
While some may still be able to play Diablo III at decent latency
levels, the reports coming from players hit by lag problems continue to
pile up. Now it's Blizzard's turn to pinpoint the problem and issue a
solution. Hopefully that will come sooner rather than later.
