The Grand Tour: Clarkson’s Amazon motoring show launches November 18

The Grand Tour—the new Amazon Prime motoring show from ex-Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond—is launching on November 18.
New episodes will run every week exclusively for Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime Video subscribers, but there's no word yet on whether the show will run in regions that do not have access to Prime Video.
While Amazon is keeping the finer details of The Grand Tour firmly under wraps, the company has dropped a few details on what will be in the first episode, which features a studio tent recording in California that will be filmed later this month. The studio tent has previously made its way to Johannesburg, with other locations due to be revealed in the lead-up to launch. Further updates are promised on the show's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The Grand Tour is the first show to feature the three presenters together since Clarkson was fired from the BBC after punching producer Oisin Tymon during the filming of an episode of Top Gear. The group swiftly signed a deal with Amazon—although they were at one point rumoured to be talking to Netflix—which was described as "very, very, very expensive," by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Anyone who wants to watch the new show will need either a £79-a-year Amazon Prime account or a monthly video subscription of £5.99.

The show may prove to be a good investment, however, particularly as the once-beloved Top Gear has struggled to attract viewers with its rebooted format and fresh lineup of hosts. Its lead presenter, Chris Evans, quit the show in July following the lowest overnight ratings for an episode in the show's history. Evans was also accused of bullying other members of staff.
Speaking to the BBC at the time, Perry McCarthy, the original Top Gear Stig said: "Chris is an enormously popular radio presenter and TV show host but he hasn't quite gelled with this show. He's not really gelling with the viewers. I probably wouldn't want to continue if I was getting constant criticism either."
There's no word yet on who will take point on the second season of Top Gear, but Chris Harris and Rory Reid are tipped for the role following the well-received Extra Gear, which aired exclusively on BBC iPlayer.
