Charity auctions for two pairs of Stephen Curry shoes raised $45,201 for the Oakland Fire Relief fund.
The specially designed Under Armour Curry 3 shoes honored the 36 people who died earlier this month in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire. Curry wore the shoes for a 103-90 victory over the New York Knicks on Dec. 15 in Oracle Arena.
The yellow and blue shoes with "Oakland" written on one shoe and "Strong" on the other went to an anonymous bidder on eBay for $30,101.
The "Ghost Ship" shoes brought $15,100 from another anonymous bidder.
The money that was raised from the auction assists the victims and families of the fire. Under Armour donated $25,000 and the Warriors' organization previously offered another $75,000.
The Oakland Athletics and the Oakland Raiders each donated $50,000 to the campaign, bringing the total to $547,096, just short of the $550,000 goal.
The record sale for an active NBA player's shoes was $37,740 in 2014 for a pair worn in the 2004 Olympics by Kobe Bryant, who retired after a long career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
A pair of LeBron Jones shoes from 2005 set the previous record for a current NBA player at $28,651.
The most a pair of Curry shoes brought in before the latest auction was $10,780 in December 2015 for 2014 playoff shoes.
Compare that with the $104,765 paid by an investor in 2013 for the "flu game" shot by Chicago's Michael Jordan.
